Model PEM-ADS 2.5µ is an advanced fine dust sampler, which can be used to determine the concentration of particulate matter of size less than 2.5µ in atmosphere. It has been specifically designed to comply with EPA reference method for determination of PM2.5, as published in Federal Register 40 CFR Part 50 Appendix L. (update May 1, 2002). When used without WINS Impactor (2.5µ cut stage), the instrument becomes a standard reference method instrument for particulate matter less than 10µ.

Model PEM-ADS 2.5µ comprises an improved louvered PM-10 sampling Inlet, a WINS impactor, a filter holder for 47mm dia. filter, an orifice assembly for flow measurement, a proportioning valve for flow control and an electronic control module for measurement, control and recording of various parameters.  All these assemblies along with ambient pressure and temperature sensors are housed in an enclosure suitable for outdoor environment.  The Sampling Pump can be provided either in the same enclosure or in a separate housing.

PEM-ADS 2.5µ utilizes an advanced microprocessor-based technology with non-volatile RAM, 4 line LCD display and RS-232 serial interface for computer compatibility. The control module is user friendly, easy to configure and operate and has an intelligent flow and temperature monitoring and regulating systems along with a barometric pressure measurement and recording system.  Flow rate is regulated to ‚±2%. The temperature monitoring system monitors the temperature of the filter as well as the ambient temperature and the temperature control system ensures that the differential is within ±50C.  The various parameters and measurements can be transferred to a laptop in the field. Optionally the same can be transferred onto a data memory module for off-field transfer to a PC.  Application Software under Windows environment is also provided for enabling data transfer and computation of the final results on the PC.
